ABA Debuts at Jiangxi HVAC Annual Conference | Practicing the Industry Agenda of "Low-Carbon Cooling and Heating" with "Digital-Intelligent" Air Ducts
Introduction:Against the backdrop of the profound transformation of the construction industry led by the "dual carbon" goals, the 2025 Jiangxi HVAC Academic Exchange Annual Conference recently concluded successfully. With the theme of "Digital Intelligence Empowering, Low-Carbon Cooling and Heating", the conference brought together industry leaders including Xu Qiuhua, Chairman of Jiangxi Civil Engineering and Architecture Society, and Zou Chengwei, Chairman of Jiangxi Construction Engineering Survey and Design Association, as well as numerous experts and scholars from societies, design institutes, universities and leading enterprises, to jointly explore cutting-edge technologies in green low-carbon and digital intelligence. As an enterprise with core material innovation achievements in the field of building fire protection and energy conservation, ABA New Materials Group was invited to attend this grand event. Huang Biao, the Group's Senior Technical Director, delivered a special presentation, focusing on how ABA's integrated composite air duct system, through material innovation, provides safer, more energy-efficient and smarter solutions for building smoke control and exhaust systems.
Against the backdrop of energy conservation and carbon reduction becoming core topics in the industry, Huang Biao pointed out in his speech that the green transformation of buildings should not only focus on the "opening up of sources" on the energy side, but also attach importance to the "reducing of expenditure" and "intrinsic safety" of the structures themselves. THE CORAL® Board, independently developed by ABA, is a revolutionary base material created based on this concept.
This material adopts an inorganic non-metallic system and forms a uniform, stable honeycomb-like independent closed-cell structure inside through aerogel-like foaming technology. This microstructure brings two core advantages: first, ultra-high thermal insulation with a thermal conductivity as low as 0.16 W/(m·K), which can significantly reduce energy loss during air duct transportation and directly lower system operation energy consumption; second, intrinsic safety—the material achieves Grade A1 non-combustibility, fundamentally eliminating fire hazards of traditional organic thermal insulation materials, and its smoke generation toxicity reaches the safety level (AQ1), truly realizing the unity of energy conservation and safety.
Faced with the trend of digital and intelligent transformation in the industry, Huang Biao emphasized that the standardization and high performance of products are the physical cornerstones for realizing intelligent manufacturing and operation & maintenance. ABA’s integrated composite air duct system is a standardized industrial product developed based on THE CORAL® Board, a platform material.
The system adopts a dry construction mode of factory prefabrication and on-site assembly. Air duct panels undergo precise cutting and structural processing in intelligent factories, and only simple on-site assembly is required. Compared with the traditional "sheet metal + external fireproof coating" mode, the construction procedures are reduced by two-thirds, installation efficiency is improved by more than 50%, and reliance on labor and on-site uncertainties are significantly reduced.
This highly standardized product form provides an excellent carrier for the in-depth integration of BIM and the standardized management of construction processes, perfectly echoing the design concept of "intelligent manufacturing, low-carbon factory".

Beyond energy efficiency and high performance, the reliability of air duct systems in emergencies such as fires is crucial. Huang Biao specifically introduced the core fire-fighting performance of the system. Thanks to the homogeneous and stable material properties of THE CORAL® Board, the air ducts themselves possess excellent fire integrity. Depending on configurations of different thicknesses, they can meet fire resistance rating requirements ranging from 0.5 hours to 3 hours for various building needs. Meanwhile, the air ducts feature high structural strength, without deformation or detachment. This product series has passed authoritative EN standard testing and certification, further verifying its outstanding fire protection reliability under different standard systems.
Compared with potential process defects in traditional multi-layer wrapped construction, ABA’s integrated air ducts achieve integration of structure and fire protection functions, with gap control up to the 0.2mm level. This ensures effective smoke and fire insulation even under extreme conditions, gaining valuable time for personnel evacuation and fire rescue, and building a solid "life defense line" for buildings.

This conference has built an important technical exchange platform for the HVAC industry. ABA's technical team stated that the company will continue to uphold the corporate philosophy of "Innovative Intelligence for Safety", deepen the application of intelligent manufacturing in building materials R&D, strengthen industry-university-research cooperation with universities and design institutes, and contribute to promoting the intelligent transformation and green development of the HVAC industry.
